The PACS Agent uses your clinic's IP address for automatic registration. Your IP must be registered with Aletheias before the agent can connect.

How It Works

The Aletheias PACS Agent is a lightweight Windows service that runs in the background:

Auto-Registration

Automatically registers with Aletheias using your clinic's whitelisted IP address. No credentials to manage.

Real-Time Sync

Polls your PACS every 30 seconds for new studies and immediately sends them to Aletheias.

Background Service

Runs as a Windows service that starts automatically when your computer boots. No user interaction needed.

Auto-Updates

Automatically downloads and installs updates to ensure you always have the latest features and fixes.

Requirements

  • Windows 10 or newer (64-bit)
  • Must be installed on the same machine as your PACS
  • Internet connection
  • Your clinic's IP address must be registered with Aletheias

Installation

1 Download the installer using the button above

2 Run the MSI installer

Review and accept the license agreement. The agent will be installed to C:\Program Files\Aletheias PACS Agent\

3 That's it!

The agent automatically starts, detects your PACS, registers with Aletheias, and begins syncing studies.

The agent runs as a Windows service and will automatically start when your computer boots. No manual intervention required.

What Gets Synced

The agent syncs all DICOM studies from your PACS to Aletheias, including:

  • X-rays and radiographs
  • CT scans
  • MRI images
  • Ultrasound studies
  • All associated DICOM metadata

Troubleshooting

Agent shows "Registration Failed"

  • Your IP address may not be registered with Aletheias
  • Contact support with your public IP address (shown in the error message)

Agent shows "PACS Not Found"

  • Ensure your PACS software is running
  • Verify the agent is installed on the same machine as your PACS
  • Check that your PACS is listening on port 104 or 11112

Studies not appearing in Aletheias

  • Check the agent is running (look for the system tray icon)
  • View logs at C:\ProgramData\Aletheias\logs\
  • Ensure your internet connection is working

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this modify my PACS data?

No. The agent only reads studies from your PACS and sends copies to Aletheias. Your original data is never modified or deleted.

Does it sync historical studies?

Yes. On first run, the agent will sync all existing studies. After that, it continuously syncs new studies as they arrive.

How do I stop the agent?

Open Windows Services (services.msc), find "Aletheias PACS Agent", and click Stop. To uninstall, use Windows Add/Remove Programs.

Does it work with my PACS?

The agent works with any DICOM-compliant PACS including IDEXX, eFilm, Cornerstone, Ezyvet, and others.

How much bandwidth does it use?

Bandwidth depends on study volume and size. A typical 10MB radiograph syncs in seconds. Large CT scans may take a few minutes.
